AP Drain Build

AP Drain Build

Postby Abbodon on Sun Jan 03, 2010 9:00 am

Ok so I've been playing around with this new spec, i am a full tank build so i did have to forfit a little to make this build work, but with the AP regen being nerfed it is a must. I gave up some points in corruption to do this, i had to sacrifce downfall which was not a big deal since the nerfed the knockdown to 3 sec it is pretty usless. The only thing i had to give up that i really wanted to keep was oppression which delt about 550 damage, increased armor by 990 for 20sec and reduced incomming damage by 15% for 15 sec. this is a great tanking tactic, but i have found that i barely miss it and with some good armor pots even less so. With the new build im more spread out in the mastery i went into dread upto the Dreadful Terror aura which takes 20AP from all enemies within 30ft every 5 sec and give you and all groupmates within 100ft 20AP every 5 sec. combine this with power from the god's tactic which gives 5 AP every sec for each active aura (15ap per sec) and chaotic advantage where every 3 sec when you parry an attack you gain 75 action pts. I find with this that i generate more AP per sec then i use, thus i do not run out. Just for good measure i throw Inevitable changing morale 1 into the mix which if needed will deal 600 damage and restore all of your AP. other tactics are mixed defenses (any time you block increase parry by 25% for 5 sec)which goes well with CA tactic, and Rugged increase toughness by 160. in addition to Dreadful Terror, i twist Dreadful Fear which increased strength for you and group by 90 reducing enemy for same, and corrupting wrath increases your and group toughness by 111 and reducing enemy's for same. This is of cousre a RVR build, but to go to PVE i trade CA tactic for Menece and change morale 2 to shield wall and go to town. here is build link for the visual learner's

so there you go....Cheer's!

I would like to remind everyone that Abbs build helps the entire team vice just helping himself out. If you run solo its one thing but if you want to succeed in a premade or running with peeps everyone has to help everyone else out when they can.

also found that i had a nice morale 3 that you should utilize. Spout Carapace everyone in group armor increased by 1320, all resist increase by 504, and everyone recieves 100AP. this effect lasts for 30 seconds and does not show a distance restriction. in my opinion this is better than the reduce incomming damage by 50% for 10 sec morale 3.

Nice build, I do love that Sprout Carapace. It has a nice visual to boot. I haven't paid too much attention to my build, just put everything into Corruption. After the AP "nerf" ( I guess the way Mythic puts it, it is a "correction" ... whatever ) I've found myself running out way too often.

I see a respec in Malloren's future, if just to get Dreadful Terror.

Thanks Abbodon!! :bow

I can see how they would call it a correction, with how it seemed that AP was virtually unlimited before. At least it makes you be strategic in ability usage... :dunno
